SwimmingEXPERIENCE

It's only a 5 minute walk to reach the spacious and newly built lido Faaker See which offers a  great space to sunbath and to enjoy the lake. You’ll also find Carinthia's longest water slide right there and with its new sanitary area and changing rooms, the lido clearly offers everything you need for a great Swim Day.In addition, you can enjoy a wide selection of drinks and snacks at the beach bar, where you can also rent loungers and parasols if needed.

Take a swim and immerse yourself in the turquoise-blue, clean and warm lake and experience the scenic swim experience!

Take advantage of the great infrastructure and rent a pedal boat, SUP or electric boat and explore the reed belts and the peninsula. And if you like to explore the lake as a whole, why not spending a day at the ‚Inselstrandbad‘

Overall, Faaker See will offer you a particularly nostalgic and wonderful experience of nature and a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy it!

GolfeXPERIENCE

The Schloss Finkenstein Golf Club offers one of the most beautiful golf courses in Carinthia. Hit the first balls early in the morning in the silence of nature or practice on the driving ranch. The extensive 18-hole course is perfectly located with a view of the Mittagskogel Mountain and the Carnic Alps which will surely make your play a special one.

End the golf day with a sundowner and excellent food on the terrasse of the castle. NON-golfers are also welcomed guests there and surely will enjoy the view aswell.

ArtisticEXPERIENCE

From the Lieblingsplatzl, the Finkenstein ruins can be reached by bike, car or even by foot should you be a motivated hiker.

It surely will be worth the trip as you will find a special vantage point that allows a view of the entire lake Faaker and its extensive surroundings. A dreamlike backdrop for romantic sunset photos and a unique place for special events.

There are cultural events in the arena in summer ranging from theater to concerts - the portfolio offers something for every art lover.

HikingeXPERIENCE

If you prefer relaxed and easy walks and hikes, there are great opportunities nearby.

Be it the „Faaker See Rundweg“, a 11 km path directly along the lake ot also the- both worth exploring. Get to know the small places around the lake, experience very different perspectives oft he lake and absorb the beautiful nature around.

The panoramic view over the entire lake Faaker from Tabor will allow you to see even the Italian mountains. Should that alone not yet have given you goosepumps, maybe the adjacent high ropes course will be the ideal next stop for you.

BikingeXPERIENCE

Biking is to be understood in two ways in this country: riding a bike or driving a Harley. For all those who want to get around with their e-bikes or bicycles directly from their Lieblingsplatzl, there are excellent cycle paths and trails that offer large and small tours.

Explore the area along the rivers or lakes while getting really sweaty – your day will be twice as valuable.

New since June 2024: the largest pump track facility in Carinthia, just a 15-minute walk from Lieblingsplatzl.

In addition, right in the Panorama Beach area of ​​the Drobollach lido, kids can look forward to one of the coolest pump track facilities, which with its endless loop holds many special challenges in store for them.

ClimbingeXPERIENCE

If you’re a climber at heart, no vacation can go without conquering a via ferrata.

Gladly, Lake Faak area is close to the Kaniani-Mountain which offers the right climbing terrain for everyone - from beginners to experts.

Experience has shown that our guests have always come back very enthusiastic about this climbing paradise and have become "repeat offenders".

FamilyeXPERIENCE

Children have the ability to remind us again of how to really soak up an experience with all our senses. They see, smell, feel, hear and taste much more intensely and clearly than adults.

The sparkle in their eyes and their authentic laugh is contageous. So how about diving into new adventures together – there are some great places to explore as a family around the lake Faak.

Venture out for a fun family adventure hike at the "Fuchsfährte", or enjoy the educational family trail "Woroun auf der Spur", following the dragon Woroun barefoot through the forest while learning about flora and fauna.

There is a lot to discover for kids – our favorites are the following:

The surroundings have a lot to offer. Whether skiing, tobogganing, ice skating, snowshoeing or building a snowman, whether relaxing in one of the thermal baths or diving into magic Christmas wonderlands, there is something great for everyone!

SkiingeXPERIENCE

Gerlitzen Alpe, is just a 15min car ride from Lieblingsplatzl. The Kanzelbahn is an attractive ski resort for both, beginners and also very experienced, demanding skier. You will be able to rent equipment or book ski classes for your children right by he slope.

Later, enjoy the food and service at one of those many beautiful huts, take a nap sunbathing in one of the deck chairs or stop by for a bit of apres-ski - you won’t be disappointed.

The best thing is to whizz over the freshly groomed slope early in the morning. But careful, the magnificent view of the three lakes, Faakersee, Ossiachersee and Wörthersee and the Alps might even overwhelm you.

WintersportseXPERIENCE

If skiing is not the right winter sport for you, there are many more options on offer. From ski touring to snowshoeing, ice skating to tobogganing and cross-country skiing - the area around Lake Faak has a lot to offer. Discover all experiences [here].

The Aichwaldsee, 2 minutes away from Lake Faak, is small and shallow and therefore it almost always freezes in winter. It’s an unique nature experience to skate and do your ice laps there. Many have become regulars – the daily ice skate might become part of your daily holiday routine too.

TobogganingeXPERIENCE

Tobogganing is fun for the whole family, whether small or large, old and young! Everyone enjoys the excitement of sledding downhill.

Wonderful toboggan runs can be found in the Dobratsch Nature Park –  and stopping by the Hundsmarhof at the foot of it, your sledging adventure might even turn into a culinary trip. Truly, a special place to enjoy winter & nature! Read more [here]

RelaxationeXPERIENCE

Should you feel like warming up after all the outdoor activity, we strongly recommend our thermal baths: The largest spa landscape of Carinthia, the Kärnten Therme Warmbad, is located only 6km from the Lieblingsplatzl. Whether you want to heat up in the spacious sauna area, complete your diving laps in the large sports pool or cruise down the adventure slide with the kids – everything is possible there and everyone gets their money's worth - even the hungry in the spa restaurant.
